I don't think people who drink drive would take any notice of it if it was a complete ban they properly haven't got a licence anyway. There should be harder prison sentences for drink drivers

I am sorry to here about your accident caused by a complete moron. However i do ocasionally have one pint if i for example go out into the countrysidefor a pub meal. The only way i can get there is drive and i enjoy having a nice meal and the one pint. I believe the limit is 1.5-2 pints (i could be wrong) and i have never drank more than one pint and drove. I dont see a problem with this and if people kept to the 1 pint there wouldnt be a problem.
Its only when idiots like the guy who hit you, others and some vehicles just go on a bender then get behind the wheel. These people should be jailed i think.

Or else, it is necessary that a person who has not drunk to accompany you. So that he or she can take the wheel. I have come across so many drunk driving accident cases in my city. The cops are taking stringent action nowadays.

I agree there should be a complete ban on drinking whilst driving. If it was law no drink at all 1. it would take the police less time to process the arrest. 2. The courts could deal out an automatic 12 month ban thus saving tax payers expenses whilst at the moment we provide legal council to represent them in court, they would just be banned without court appearance. 3. Some people have no idea what "their" limit is, everyone is different, depends on height, weight, what they have ate that day, medication etc etc.
You can no longer smoke in public incase you harm somebody, so why should you get behind the wheel of a car after 2 or 3 pints and turn it into a potential murder weapon!!
