Default What is the best fighting game?
My vote is with Street Fighter III: Third Strike. This game has the most depth of any fighter, 2D OR 3D. The parry system is phenomenal.

I was playing Virtua Fighter 4 the other day and it was really boring...

I bet a few people think Tekken or Soul Caliber are the best?

i used to think IK+ was the best fighting game ever on the zx spectrum ..lol

Default IK+ was really good
I loved Double Dragon and Final Fight too. Nothing like an old fashioned 2D fight game! LOL
Playing them these days seems to be cult-like behaviour...

i agree...there is quite a big retro gaming scene...you can even play them on your mobile..
i do think allot of the older games had more playability factor than ones today..flashy graphics isn't everything...

It's all about King of Fighters my friend. At least in the glory days of the real SNK. King of Fighters XI is about to be released though, still in lush 2D, along with the second 3D attempt KOF Maximum Impact 2 which will hopefully be an improvement on the first. I cut my teeth on SFII in the arcades of course, too much wasted youth, but once I discovered KOF I was hooked to the SNK way.

Fighting videogames are pretty dead these days but I would have to say streetfighter series is my all-time favourite

For me the best fighting game would be the Tekken franchise. I love Tekken because of the realsim of the playing styles.
