Does anyone agree with me that this is probably the worst England team ever??!!??
It seems that the boys have lost the touch that we blamed them for having under Sven's reign as coach. In perspective, now I think that Sven might have done a decent job. ![]() |

this isn't the worst england side ever, far from it. what about the team that went out of euro 92? that failed to qualify for usa 94?
the main problem is that your side is full of overpaid and mollycoddled primadonnas who believe their own press about being the best footballers in the world. the media have a lot to do with this too. there was no way they had the talent or squad depth to win the world cup last year, but nobody was prepared to take this on board. add this to the supposed "problem" of having to choose between gerrard and lampard in the middle, the fanatical hype surrounding rooney and the lingering ghost of beckham and it becomes clearer why you struggle sometimes. i firmly believe england'll qualify for austria/switzerland in 2008, they may even top their group yet. the israel result is nowhere near the disaster it was made out to be, they're a decent side and have a history of intimidating visiting club and national sides alike. on the whole, england aren't as good as they were led to believe, but equally, they're not as bad as everyone suddenly seems to think. |
