Default What Supermarket Do You Use???

What influences you in your choice of supermarket ???
Locality???
Price???
Quality???

For me its Quality..

Personally i goto Sainsburys because i feel the quality of the meat and fresh foods is allot better..
I also goto farm shops where the quality of the meat is far superior to the supermarkets..
you may think it costs more,
for example try the home cured bacon in most farm shops, and compare the weight and price of it to your supermarkets finest brand..
Then cook both and weight it again,i think you`ll be surprised in the results ...

I use to go to Sainsbury's as well, but only to make a big shopping, because you can find everything there. If I only have to by some specific thing, something that I need at that moment, I like going to Lidel. It,s cheaper but they don't have so many thinks, and you have to carry with your own bag, if you don.y want to pay more!

If it,s late at night I use to go to Tesco, it,s near home and not so expensive!
Do you buy the meat and fish in Sainsbury's? The truth is that It's been a month without eating fish or meat because I don't know where to go to buy it! Can I trust in the quality of the food in Sainsbury's?

Thanks,

Kanana

I used to think Sainsburys was expensive too..until i had a sad moment and compaired prices and quality..
i looked at 10 basic items from the leading supermarkets..there was less than 50p difference...
however Sainsburys fresh fruit and veg lasted longer they also did better in ready meals..had more chicken in etc..i don't find it acceptable to have 3 peaces of chicken in a meal..
Tescos meat is getting better,,Asda i found close to me was nothing short of disgusting
..yes a leg of lamb was cheaper but it was as tough as old boots..
Marks and Spencer does give you the best quality all round, the average ready meal is about 50p more, but you do get allot of meat for your money,,,
Iceland say they are cheap...and yes they are..take a closer look, and this goes for most supermarkets..there is a weight difference,,no wonder its cheaper,ya get less of it,,tot the price up per 100g you`ll find your payin more...
i think all shoppers out there should keep an eye on what you buy,and if you feel its not up scratch ,complain !!!!
If they can get away with selling us rubbish its only because we are willing to accept it...

Thank god its stopped raining and i can start work again..As you lot might of guessed i was very bored..LoL

I go to asda as it is closest-5 minutes away. I find they have lots of choice and the prices are good. My weekly shop for 3 people and 2 dogs is usually around £40-£45. When i have gone to Sainsburys or Tesco for a change its been around the £50 mark. Get petrol at Sainsburys so I can collect Nector points-save them for the big Xmas pig out fund

Rely more on home delivery because traffic is bad where I live at this time of year and that denotes where I go to shop as well.Sainsburys is the one I pop to most but love to go to local butchers and fruit and veg shop to get things like that .Like to shop locally and walk down and natter with the shop owners

For me its the question of crowd. I always prefer a place that is not so crowded. Crowds make your shopping a hell. Apart from that, i also dont compromise on quality.

You know this is about cooking but to me pleasure is taking time off from cooking as well. Most relaxing thing to do on the weekend if the weather is good,is to walk down to the local deli.It is stocked with the most amazing things and cooking from around Devon. Have a chat, no crowds and superb quality. Then a walk home to make up for what I am about to eat and relaxation.
