good drivers are good and bad ones are bad..
what is a good driver ??/
One who doesn't kill anybody..
I think people should get over what *** is the better driver
and concentrate on being a good driver no matter what *** they are

I think men are more daft when they drive. They have the knack of it. Women need more space while driving and they are a little more messy and casual. Also on the road, men are more understanding of the fellow drivers on the road.

Many of you might have saw on allot of TV shows and newspapers etc
saying women are better drivers..This is true if you look at the statistics at face value
from the insurance companies..
However these statistics are floored,more men than women drive in the UK,
so to get a true picture you would need equal women/men to get a credible statistic ..

I am a very curteous driver-always let somebody out or in whichever the case. Since i got my automatic i am a much more relaxed driver, what does get me mad however is old people in their 70's (not all of them-b4 someone jumps down my throat) who potter around in a world of their own, they make lane changes without warning and pull out without even looking. I actually had a serious head on collision 3 years ago with a 74 year old man, he had epilepsy and dimensia. He had forgotten to take his medication and collaped at the wheel of his car, he ploughed straight into me on the wrong side of the road-that is the first and only time i ever want to be on the receiving end of an airbag I broke my coccyx, my wrist and had whiplash. He was just bruised. When I saw him at A&E he said he thought he was at home watching t.v, didn't even know he had been out He is now driving again what is that all about? I guess that is why I am a little ageist when it comes to drivers!

It depends really I think 17 to 20-year-old male driver are the worst drivers on the road. But above that males are far far far better in every way than females

i think that most people try to be safe on the road i know i am always polite and try not to make other road users feel uncomfortable. i always stop at a zebra crossing to let someone cross and i always try and leave lots of time when i am making manouvers on the motorway walking around my home town I am amazed by the number of people who fail to make any attempt to stop at traffic lights at all i will say i was nearly sideswiped by an inexperienced young Lady about 19/20 so i don't think that you can say younger people are anymore dangerous than anyone else

As my grandfather used to curse at reckless drivers "crazy young fool". Young male drivers are the most dangerous - fast, aggressive, careless, showing off...
Women's diffidence and incompetence doesn't come close to being that dangerous.

Impossiable to say really it depends on the actual driver, but survays will tell you that women drivers have less accidents so even though I am a man and would love to say men are, the amount of accidents wise women are the better drivers.

Also there are other factors to take into account here though what do you think makes a better driver?

Is it who can get round a bend fastest, is it who can get from A to B fastest, is it who has the most accidents in their lifetime, is it who is most aware of their surrounding such as other road users, road positioning ect ect the list goes on.

Way to many factors to take into account to really answer your question properly.
