Hi,
Wondering if anyone could advise or help me make a decision? I am currently in a full time permanent role but have now been offered a contract position within another company. Do I move as it will be better paid or stick with the security of a permanent role, I have never contracted before and thinking about giving it a go although I have heard both good and bad things about it. Can anyone please help me out .......... Kind regards |

Good evening Lkenn2007,
I have personally been contracting for over 5 years now, like you said, there are good point and bad but mainly more towards the better. I would advise you to go for it, I was in a similar situation myself, I have been in 3 contract within the last 5 years and totally enjoy it. I find it gives you more freedom and flexibility. Good luck and keep me updated. Regards Stu |

That would depend on whether you have any financial commitments, ie mortgage or other loan repayments to make. If you have, the security of a Permanent position will suit your needs better. My advice would be; only take a Contract position if the only other option is unemployment.
If however, you have no financial commitments and want to 'fly by the seat of your pants', a more senior contract role may be a way of progressing your career. |
