Post House prices vs wage rises

Just been reading an interesting article about the changes in wealth & debt across the decades. It made an interesting point about the house prices & wage rises. To quote:

"According to the Office for National Statistics, wages rose by 92% during that 10-year period – but house prices rose by 204%."

It didn't take a huge leap of imagination to see the current crisis coming though did it. We've all been living recklessly based on "equity" and low interest rates, with out the foresight to see that things could change.
