There's this art installation I got rather interested about that was set up in London a few days ago, and will now be coming to Edinburgh (25-27.04) and Liverpool (3-5.05).. I didn't have a chance to see it in London, just read about, looking forwards to the appearance in Scotland. here's a clip:
click. Anyway, the whole idea was to make a dome which would have cameras all around it, taking panoramic pictures every minute. Then store the pictures, and make them accessible. Now, the interesting part: there are two ways to access them, one through the Internet, the other one from inside the dome. And what actually got me hooked is how the latter option works: the screens show what would be on the other side of the dome, just back in time. They react on the viewer in such a way, that when the viewer moves closer to the screen, the captured memory recedes in time. I think that might be quite cool. In Edinburgh, the installation is supposed to be set at the Mound - I think the skyline will do it's job making the shots nice, and the sunrise over the Craigs might be one cool view if the weather doesn't ruin it.
