Gran Canaria enjoys variations in weather, benefiting from the Gulf flow and landscape surrounding it. The north is usually cooler than the south, which can get pretty warm sometimes. Inner regions, due to its mountains, are cloudier and colder, with more rainfall.
Gran Canaria is an absolute paradise for devotees of sand and sea. (In fact, the island has been home to thirty world champions in the various forms of sailing sports and of six Olympic gold medalists, plus windsurfing champions.) Last edited by magnusiax : 30.04.08 at 08:17. |

Hi there Magnusiax,
My friend has just returned from Gran Canaria - he said that they are having a heatwave out there at the moment... Apparently, they are hitting 37 degrees and it is only May I went there about 7 or 8 years ago... It reached about 40 degrees in the mountains... It was quite funny really - We went on a 'Beep Jeep' ride in Jeeps (obviously lol) into the mountains, there were several jeep loads and everyone had water pistols of varying descriptions! You can probably imagine... It was great fun! Anyway, take care and have a good day! Buck ![]() |
