I think we dudes just want to drive nice cars and middle age is when most people can afford them - anything wrong with that? I think not.

of course they buy flashy cars in a mid life crisis. bu think, put your self in the situation - youre wife has left you and taken the children, the house and all of your money. You want to feel good about yourself, how do you do that? materialistic posessions, of course. And what better a posession could you ask for than one that makes you feel good and in control. Henceforth, you purchase a flashy lil sports car or convertible, cruise around, think 'god i look good' and be having such a good time that you dont care that gorgeous young women are not classing you as a hot piece of ass but a sad middle aged man.
If i had a midlife crisis i'd buy a hot car.

of course it depends on your definition of a flash car i think my jaguar series 3 XJ6 is flash and no i didn't buy it cos i was goin through a mid life crisis I bought it when i was 29
