Default Steve McClaren

Do you think Steve McClaren will be a better England boss than Sven?

After Sven's performance from Germany I think that whoever you put in the coaching seat along with the perks and cash can do a better job!!

Wasn't Maclaren doing all the changes in the world cup anyway? he was always writing things down whilst sven just sat there.

Default Sven really wasn't that bad...

... if you look at his record it is very good.

Only beaten by the eventual winners Brazil in World Cup 2002 (after rescuing us in the qualifying campaign). Courtesy of a freak goal.

Beaten on Penalties by the hosts/finalists in Euro 2004 (VERY unlucky with Rooney's injury against Portugal).

Beaten on Penalties in the Quarter Finals of 2006 (EXTREMELY unlucky with the injuries that ravaged our best strikers Owen & Rooney).

In all of these competitions the margin was so fine that had England been the lucky team in the one off games they could have won and gone on to finals/trophies etc.

In my opinion McClaren is not as tactically aware as Sven (who managed in Serie A at it's peak!!!) and seems to be erasing the cool/composed tactical approach to games that saw us beat the likes of Argentina and Germany (& also come very close to beating France).

Under Sven we WERE an international power. Under McClaren, in only a matter of months we are nothing of the sort. Says it all really.

And Beckham is much better than Phil Neville - Steve...

Default Who should play against Israel and is victory likely?

Here is my team:
Robinson
Richards Ferdinand Terry Barry
Hargreaves
Lennon Gerrard Dyer
Rooney
Johnson

No Lampard as he needs to be dropped in order for Gerrard and Hargreaves (our two best midfielders) to play together. Lampard gives the ball away too much, simple as that. Playing two wide players with pace will create a lot of chances and will also create space for the Rooney & Johnson.
This team is more than good enough to win the match and has the personnel to keep the ball (for once!).

Everyone else's thoughts?
