No, I think that there is still some room for increased prices....but I am glad that I bought when I did.

I agree. We were lucky to get the deal we got, our house price has soared since then.

While wages and living costs continue to rise so will house prices. Its all hand in hand really. Though it is a shame as it cuts off certain communities and groups that struggle money wise.

Now here is a laugh from an oldie like me.. When our children were very young, we always used to go out for walks and pass a beautiful 3bed detached showhouse.I asked my husband to go in and ask the price. He went into see the site agent, and came back with the reply £3,000. Whaaaaaaaaaaat I said, do you think anyone would spend that on a house?. That was in 1973. Twenty years later in 1993. we bought a 4 Bedroom detached showhouse for £80,000. Fourteen years later in 2006 it has been valued at £286,000 Yep these prices just keep on rolling upwards. What bank account would give you £206,000 interest in 14 years.
Although I feel sorry for the young marrieds,or couples of today, a one bedroomed flat can be £130,000. So for some of my children getting on the ladder is very difficult.
Now, if we sold our house and lived in a Caravan, and got off the property ladder, we would be very rich.. but, alas, one day it will be left to our kids, that's life.

They say the average house price will eventually rise £500,000 so you're very lucky person if you bought a house five plus years ago when they only cost about 60 grand
