Default How do you train 'house rabbits'?

I'd like to get a rabbit but let him live in the house? Is is safe and how do you do that - like you do a cat?

rabbits certainly can live inside, and they can be litter trained, usually after they've been neutered, though my first rabbit was house trained from birth bless him. sadly, my second home bunny isn't quite so trained and is still awaiting neutering and is untraining the other one so i was on my hands and knees cleaning poo off the carpet this morning at 7.30. put it this way, it's good practice for when mini people come along wanting nappies changing...

ps. it is safe if you hide the wires. otherwise you have electrocuted bunnies on your hands! rabbit proofing is the name of the game!

To train a bunny , buy a litter tray - a cats one , fill it with waterever your bunny seems to like.My rabbits like sawdust.Put the litter tray in the poo corner of their hutch.
If they miss sweep the poo and put it in the litter tray - they will learn.
However not all rabbits will use a litter tray and it does take some time to train them.
I have giant rabbits 3 use a litter tray one wont!!

Rabbits make great indoor pets. Just make sure you hide all wires out of the way becasue they do chew everything in sight. Mines cost me a fortune in just a few months with his chewing lol.

I managed to get him litter trained. I used a cat litter box and put wood chips in. It helps if you put some of their pee soaked straw/hay/wood shavings in there so they can identify the smell. Put some of their poo in there as well and reward your bunny when he's been. We don't have very many accidents now and he's got a lot better about using his box since he's had the snip
