Default Rats as pets

I really want to get a pet rat. Does anyone know anything about caring for them and feeding them etc??

they're very clean. very social. get more than one, give them a big cage, give them lots of toys to play with, some food and water. happy rats.

If you live in london you are never more than 7 metres away from a rat apparently...hmmm

Have you read that book 'The Pied Piper of Hamlyn"? He tried to kill them all

I don't like RATS at all. I just step on them as I'm a FAT ELEPHANT.

But I understand lots of kids wanting them as they are the cheap alternative of having a Pet at home. You can probably buy one for a quid!

They are supposed to make great pets, they have just got a bad reputation!!
But that the street rat, not the ones that have been hand reared!!!
They are loving too!! believe it or not!!!!
But you have to make sure they have big enough space to live!!!(SLEEP)

May I suggest that you read 'The Rats' by James Herbert before you buy one.
Tis very informative on their habits and stuff. . .
